It’s 1905 and in a small Jewish village within the western region of Imperial Russia poor milkman Tevye embraces the traditions of his forefathers and is focused on finding suitable husbands for his daughters. This beloved, Oscar-winning musical, based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, features a standout performance by Topol. It’s also impressive for the way it celebrates a community dealing with hardship in changing times, as it struggles to maintain its identity.

‘It’s a film that’s always moved me very deeply. It’s an absolute masterpiece, with near flawless performances, that feel even more relevant today. Seeing it on the big screen would be a real privilege.’
