• Total running time 100min

The works presented here on 16mm and video draw out some of the key questions and preoccupations that have captivated artists and filmmakers in their bid to challenge the limits of film, television and broader moving image culture. Among Simon Payne’s selections are works by Jayne Parker, Peter Gidal, Samantha Rebello and Jennifer Nightingale. He also joins us to discuss the thinking behind his new BFI/Bloomsbury book Experimental Cinema: Structures, Systems and Strategies.
