Palcy’s powerful and uncompromising adaptation of André Brink’s celebrated novel confronts the brutal realities of apartheid through the moral awakening of Ben du Toit, a white Johannesburg schoolteacher. Initially apolitical, he agrees to help his black gardener search for his detained son, only to uncover a system built on torture, silence and fear. Featuring an Oscar-nominated cameo by Marlon Brando, A Dry White Season is both a personal reckoning and a fierce political indictment.
