D is for Distance is a personal essay film about Louis Petit, whose severe epilepsy erased his childhood memories. Told through family archive footage, it explores medical bureaucracy, cinema and the mind, expanding into a meditation on technology, capitalism and resilience.

We are delighted to announce that filmmaker Charlie Shackleton will join this panel. Shackleton created the award-winning performance piece As Mine Exactly (2022), about his relationship with his mother in the wake of her epilepsy diagnosis.
