When rookie cop Megan Turner fatally shoots a suspect in a supermarket robbery, she triggers an obsessive game of cat and mouse with a witness-turned-obsessive. Here, Bigelow transitioned into bigger-budget studio filmmaking and broke new ground with the police-procedural genre. Probing the complexities of institutionalised misogyny and violence as a form of intimacy, Bigelow transports audiences on a non-stop thrill ride.
Contains scenes of sexual violence and police brutality.
We will now be screening the original English language print, which will not have French and German subtitles as noted in the printed guide.
