We Crip Film Festival Closing Night
An Audience with Kyla Harris: Cripping the Screen Industries
We close the festival with a focus on the career and achievements of BAFTA Breakthrough winner Kyla Harris, the Chair of We Crip Film.
- Total running time 90min
Kyla Harris is an award-winning writer, actor and producer. Serving many hats, their work centres intersectionality as a lens to cultivate inclusion and create connection. In 2024, Kyla co-created, co-wrote and starred in the comedy-drama series We Might Regret This (BBC-Roughcut Television-Village Roadshow 2024). She also produced the Independent Spirit Award-nominated Patrice: The Movie, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and was a hit at London Film Festival last year.
Join festival programmer Tara Brown and Kyla Harris in conversation on what it truly means to reclaim the word “crip” and to create meaningful change in the screen industries for disabled people.
