Maya, a young warrior princess, lives in a magical kingdom under threat from a formidable group of underworld Gods intent on destruction and chaos. To protect the kingdom’s way of life, Maya must assemble a group of three exceptional fighters. On their quest, they’ll face gods of earthquakes, storms, war and death. And that’s just for starters! This thrilling Netflix animated mini-series from Jorge R. Gutiérrez (The Book of Life) has been hotly anticipated since it was first announced in 2018. And it’s been shrouded in secrecy until now, as we present the first four action-packed episodes on the big screen. It’s a celebration of Mesoamerican culture and storytelling on an epic scale that Gutiérrez describes as being ‘inspired by the real Mexican warrior women in my life’.
