Christie Digital

From its Hollywood beginnings over 60 years ago, Christie® has been at the vanguard of film projection, leading innovation with the brightest laser projection on the planet and crystal-clear audio solutions.

A lesser-known chapter in cinema history is that Christie’s relationship with the BFI is not just longstanding but, together, played a key part in the global conversion from film-to-digital movie screenings. It was the film-to-digital movement that was spearheaded in the UK over a decade ago when the Digital Screen Network, funded by the UK Film Council, embarked on a hugely ambitious project to bring domestic independent films to a much wider audience.

Now Christie’s pure RGB laser illumination is bringing audiences rich color and high contrast, super-brightness for 2D and 3D movies, and technologies of the future such as high frame rate. The LFF will be screened at the Royal Festival Hall with Christie RGB pure laser. Meanwhile the BFI’s sound and vision has been permanently upgraded in Screen One this year with laser projection and Vive Audio. And as the industry continues to rebuild after the pandemic Christie introduced a UV disinfection device specifically designed to reduce pathogens while people are present. Let us all enjoy the magic of cinema once again.
